School-based SLPs face heavy workloads, administrators and other stakeholders who often do not understand the profession, and isolation from other SLPs. This challenging work environment can result in snap decisions that fail to consider the ASHA Code of Ethics. Using scenarios and explicit description of relevant rules, this session will explain the application of the Code of Ethics to school-based clinical practice.

This session can count toward the ASHA certification maintenance professional development requirement for ethics.
