Tina is a speech-language pathologist who specializes in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) with a private practice, Voices4all LLC, in Avon, Ohio. She provides AAC evaluations and treatment, consultation, and training to families and area schools. She has more than 13 years of experience working with children and adults who use AAC. She received her master's degree in speech-language pathology from Cleveland State University. Since entering the field in 2009, she has worked in public schools, the hospital setting, and outpatient pediatric therapy services before joining the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities as an AAC specialist in 2015 while still maintaining her private practice. She is a member of ASHA and an Assistive Technology Professional through RESNA. She is serving on the medical advisory board of Hope for HIE and is the 2022-2023 Vice President of People Who Use AAC and their families of the US chapter of the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. She is co-founder and co-director of Camp ALEC, a summer literacy camp in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for children with significant disabilities who use AAC. She presents locally, statewide, and nationally. Core vocabulary, promoting authentic communication, and literacy are her areas of specialty. In addition to her professional experience as an AAC specialist, Tina brings to the field her personal experiences as the mother of an AAC user. Her 24-year-old son, Mateo, has used AAC as his primary mode of communication since the age of 4.
